Description
The is in really nice, working order. Everything moves very smoothly and looks great! It has matching serial numbers on the transit, the bullet case, and the exterior hard padded case.Thr bullet case has the original leather strap and the clasps work properly.
The top to the padded hard case closes, latches, and locks as it should. One hinge bolt is missing and the other side the plastic of the hinge is broken around the hinge bolt.
When you look through the lens it is clear and the crosshairs/circle around the crosshairs are all sharp. The images presents upside down.
The only thing on the instrument I can see that MIGHT need attention is that when looking through the lens there MIGHT be a small chip or crack (?) in the bottom right as you look through it. If I look at the exterior of the larger lens, I do not notice anything cracked, chipped, scuffed, anything on the outside of the lens.
The reason I stress the word MIGHT is that I only have one eye and do not see all that well up close. It could be a small hair inside there or it could be a small chip on the inside, although I'm not sure how a lens would get chipped inside. Regardless, it does not interfere with the view, crosshairs, or clarity of the scope.
This is the original style T16, having been manufactured in 1965 according to the research I did on it.
I will NOT* be accepting returns on this as I have described it as accurately as I feel possible. I presume it works correctly as everything on it seems to. I am not a surveyor and have no knowledge of how to properly work this instrument. I am, however, able to understand how it is made and make my observations and descriptions based on that and the research I've done in an attempt to be completely accurate in my description. Thank you.
*If for some reason I have made a grave error that I am not aware of, I would absolutely work with you on a return or some other solution to make things right.
