I've been in the construction field for over 50 yrs. Framer, trim carpenter, remodeling, roofer, yadda yadda yadda. This unit is definitely a step above the usual 2x2 skylight. I always have orders shipped to store and inspect them at the store. Then, if there's an issue I don't have to mess with it. Just decline and HD takes care of it. Much easier than ship to home or site and then having to take it back etc. Any of you guys that do much of anything know how worthless instructions generally are. Don't expect to get much info from their useless instruction sheet...not even R.O. dimensions. I did a curb mount and wanted to frame ahead for skylight. HD lists RO spec as 27x27...NOT! I called manufacturer and could never get through. One review said the curb should be 26&5/8ths(outside dim.) That will work, however, in the useless instructions(which were mostly unreadable due to poor copying) they say to leave an additional 1/2' space all around. I found this online in a spec sheet. if you don't care about warranty, 26 &5/8ths all around will work (outside dim.).I ended up waiting until I got the unit, then built my curb. The other issue is their 'flashing' kit...9! Really??? I made my own for ...it ain't rocket science.I live in Phx area and I do like the prismatic function, no hot spots like other skylights. It does seem to spread more light inside too. AND....of course, it has to look cool on the roof. I like the pyramid shape.Overall, a pretty nice product for the $$$ Too bad they don't have 'real' instructions or customer service.

Well-made welded aluminum frame bubble-replacing skylight; so far so good. It has several layers and is better thermally-insulated than the cheap skylights it replaced. It comes with weather stripping already in place, so the unit can quickly be dropped in. Quality is high; I noticed that the corners are smoothed and won't cut you. I'm just hoping the plastic holds up over time -- this is always the question with plastic vs. glass, but glass has its own issues. Perhaps unfairly I gave it a 4 vs. a 5 only because the screws are substandard; you'll want to be using your own 8 screws per skylight. No big deal. I bought four of these and recommend you do, too!
