    Description

    Darling toddler treasure!
Absolutely charming, 16" long, original sateen covered cloth,* and
    originally stamped
on upper left cloth leg, (see photo)
toddler girl, child doll manufactured by
Martha Jenks Chase, Rhode Island, USA, circa 1890
with painted brown eyes with thick eyelashes, brows, rosy cheeks,
    applied ears
and closed mouth. She has tab-jointed (floppy style) arms and legs (
    early style
    : at
    hips, shoulders, elbows and knees
) with beautifully painted and individually stitched fingers with
    separate thumbs
and toes.  This little girl is stamped clearly on her left thigh with the
    Martha Chase doll face logo
. She wears a darling, antique dress and bonnet, full slip, knit undershirt and cotton panties and replaced socks and shoes and shows some "play wear" from her long life of being a treasured companion, mostly on her thickly painted hair, but
    no repainting.
    *
These dolls were often recovered at the Chase factory doll hospital due to extensive play and wear.
Copy of original manufacturer's leaflet is included.
See her older "brother" in our separate listing (photo #7).
Other toys and "family members" are
    not included
    and will be listed separately.
    Please note:
nearly all of our items are
    antique or vintage
(usually with some signs of wear due to usage and previous storage). We do our very best to describe and photograph them for you and do not repair, restring,  repaint or enhance them in any way as most collectors prefer to find them in their original state. We have many other vintage & antique  (some quite rare) marionettes available (see last photos) and will list them as quickly as possible.
    Thanks for visiting,
Let us know if we can help you with anything else. We have
more antique and vintage dolls, dollhouse furniture and antique dollhouse dolls available,
    each listed separately.
