Calling Early Doll Collectors! Charming Antique cloth doll with Mourning Pin

Description

For the collector. Early American small cloth doll with slightly molded face and a
plaque of tiffany gauze covering painted features. She is wearing the original costume
of the period.  Someone has added a fine mourning pin to the dress. This doll is a
classic example of pre-1820 era,( she may be earlier, end of 18th century) emulating the wooden and paper mâché dolls
cherished by by families in the early to mid 19th century America. Height is 9 1/2".
Brooch is 1 1/2" .
I bought out of a serious and extensive doll collection in NorthEast. She is completely
dry and solid. Because of age and original costume- there is some wear and an old
stain on rear of dress and a bit of stain on face...but no mold. She is dry.   See pictures for more information.

I think she's rare and beautiful
